Covenant House Texas
Founded in Houston in 1983, Covenant House Texas provides emergency shelter, crisis intervention, transitional housing and community-based services to homeless, runaway, throwaway, and at-risk youth under the age of 21.
Crisis Care
This 80-bed emergency shelter is available on a 24-hour basis to youth in need. The shelter provides a safe place where young people's basic, immediate needs can be met.
Street Outreach
Covenant House counselors offer food, clothing, counseling, and workshops to street kids. Walk-in services are available to youth who are not yet ready to enter our residential program
Health Care Services
Life on the streets makes youth highly susceptible and exposes them to a variety of illnesses and injuries. On-site clinics provide free health care services to homeless youth. Mental health and substance abuse counseling also is available.
Educational Services
On-site educational resources include General Equivalency Diploma classes, vocational guidance and life skills workshops. Young mothers are taught skills to enable successful parenting.
Rights of Passage
Rights of Passage provides long-term residential support and prepares young adults for independent living.
